The University of York Blockchain Development and Research Society was formed in 2018 by Vishal Soomaney, Peter Jupp and Liem Vu. With the goal of education in mind, the society was founded on the principles of sharing knowledge and better preparing the students of the University of York for their post-graduation future.
Talks and Workshops
Frequent talks and workshops are given throughout the year. Our lectures are extremely informative, and cover a range of topics within the blockchain space. We focus on three key aspects of blockchain - the technical side, applications in finance, and the legal implications of the technology.
Guest Speakers from Industry
In 2018 we had the privilege of inviting a senior manager from multi-billion dollar software company Amadeus, as well as a machine learning & blockchain specialist from Bright.io. We hosted one of the largest events on campus in Spring 2019, with speakers from Barclays, Freshfields, Foot Anstey, Norton Rose Fulbright and TKN Audit.
